How much does it cost?

Holiday programs may vary in price depending on the region.
Program costs will vary based on program set up requirements and marketing strategies employed.

This does not start the registration process; you simply need to click Register now from this page if you wish to proceed.

Who can register?

Any boy or girl who is turning 5 and turning no older than 12 in the year they register can be part of the program.
We encourage everyone to bring their friends and family members to the program.

Can I register on the day of the program?

All registrations and payments need to be made online via the registration form prior to the day as we don't accept paper registrations.

What will be provided?

All equipment and resources are provided.
Participants are required to bring morning/afternoon snacks and lunch and a water bottle. No food will be provided by AFL Victoria due to health and saftey reasons.

What do I need to bring?

Participants are advised to bring warm clothing in case of cold weather.
We also advise participants to wear comfortable clothing as they will be involved in physical activity during the program as they learn and further develop their skills in Australian Football. Participants are welcome to wear their favourite football Guernsey.

What should I wear?

You should wear something comfortable as you will be involved in physical activity during the program.
Most people will wear a pair of football boots/runners, as well as socks, shorts and a jumper.
What you wear is up to you provided you are comfortable, and are able to participate in physical activity throughout the day. Some programs will be held indoors if required due to poor weather, please note that football boots cannot be worn inside and runners should be packed too.

How long does it go for?

The session will start at 9AM and finish at 3PM. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session start time to sign in.

What will I learn?

You will learn some of the basic skills of Australian Football, such as how to kick and handball, as well as some of the basic rules of the game.

Can I register for any of the programs?

Yes, you can register for any of the programs on offer.

Can I do more than one of the AFL Victoria School Holiday Programs?

Yes, you can register for as many of the programs as you wish, but you need to register and pay separately for all programs.

Who will deliver the program?

The program will be delivered by Level 1 accredited coaches experienced in football.

Can I come alone or do I need to go with someone?

You can come alone, or you can bring your family and friends.
The program is conducted in a fun and friendly environment so you'll meet plenty of other kids if you come alone. Parents are not required to stay but are definitely more than welcome to stay on the day. Parents simply need to sign children in and then pick up and sign out at 3:00PM. Our Coaches are all required to have an up to date First Aid Certificate and Epipen training as well as working with Children's Checks.

Do I need to bring a football?

No, footballs and all other equipment and resources will be provided.

Do I need footy boots?

We suggest you wear footy boots if you have them as you'll be running around throughout the program. However if you do not own footy boots, runners are perfectly fine. Most children will be wearing boots/runners, along with football socks, shorts, and a jumper.
We encourage you to wear whatever clothing you will be comfortable in.

I know nothing about football, can I still attend?

Yes! The program assumes no previous knowledge of the game, and is great for people who know nothing about Australian Football. Children will be divided into groups based on age and knowlede/skills of the game to ensure every child has a meaningful experience.

Can I bring friends with me?

Yes, we encourage everyone to bring their friends as it will be a fun experience to share with your friends.

How many people will be at the course?

The course runs with a ratio of one staff member per 20 participants, so you will be in groups of no more than 20.

How do I register and pay?

You will receive a confirmation email when you complete your registration, which confirms all the details of your program.
From there, all you need to do is turn up.

What happens if I get injured?

If you get injured you will be covered by the AFL’s insurance.

What happens once I register?

Yes, after you register and pay online for the program to reserve your spot all you need to do is turn up.
You will receive a confirmation email when you register.

Will there be opportunities to have photo’s with guest presenters?

There may be some limited opportunities to have photos with guest presenters however you must discuss this will the program coordinator prior to approaching guests.
